Welcome back folks! We're back after a short break for Thanksgiving. Glad to see you all survived Black Friday! We are hard at work preparing for the holidays but we still have a couple of new products for you. Without further ado, let's check out your Friday Product Post!
A new GPS receiver and a couple of revs. Not a bad week!
The GP-20U7 is a compact GPS receiver with a built-in, high performance, all-in-one GPS chipset. The GP-20U7 accurately provides position, velocity, and time readings, and has high sensitivity and tracking capabilities. Thanks to the low power consumption this receiver requires, the GP-20U7 is ideal for portable applications such as tablet PCs, smart phones, and other devices requiring positioning capability.
SparkFun EL Sequencer
COM-12781The EL Sequencer is a board that contains an Arduino-compatible microcontroller, and circuitry for controlling up to eight strands of electroluminescent wire. EL wire is flexible plastic cord that glows brightly when high-voltage AC is applied to it. It's available in numerous colors (see the related products below), runs cool, and requires very little current, but can be difficult to work with because of the high-voltage requirements. The EL Sequencer can safely switch high-voltage AC on and off, allowing you to easily create animated displays or whatever else your imagination can come up with. This rev has fixed a few silkscreen errors and updated the connectors.
Relay Shield v2.0
DEV-13769This Relay Shield v2.0 from Evil Mad Scientist is a simple Arduino add-on that gives your Arduino the ability to control a single electromechanical relay for switching loads of up to 24VDC or 40VAC. As this is a shield, it is powered straight from the 5V power supplied by your Arduino, simply slide it into your Arduino or shield-compatible board (like the RedBoard) and you will be good to go! Version 2.0 of this shield adds the ability to control the mechanical relay from a pin other than D4.
