We have two new environmental sensors that feature the SCD4x line from Sensirion as well as a wide-angle lens version of the RPi Camera Module 3 NoIR!
Hello everyone and welcome back to another Friday Product Post here at SparkFun Electronics! We have three exciting new products to show off this week and we are going to start with the new SCD40 and SCD41 CO₂ Humidity and Temperature Qwiic Sensors. These two boards have some slight difference, so make sure you read on to learn more! Following that, we have a wide-angle version of the Raspberry Pi Camera Module 3 NoIR (in case you missed it, we released the standard lens version last week). Alright, let's jump in and take a closer look at this week's new products!
This SparkFun CO2 Humidity and Temperature Sensor features the next-generation SCD40 photoacoustic CO2 sensor for high-accuracy environmental readings. The SCD40 uses Sensirion's PASens® photoacoustic measurement system that combines narrow-band IR light and a microphone inside the sensing package capable of detecting concentrations from 0 to 40000 ppm with high accuracy over 400-2000 ppm ±(50 ppm+5%). The SCD41 has an integrated temperature and humidity CMos® sensor to improve accuracy. For additional accuracy, the SCD40 also accepts ambient pressure readings!
Meanwhile, this SparkFun CO2 Humidity and Temperature Sensor features the next-generation SCD41 photoacoustic CO2 sensor for high-accuracy environmental readings. The SCD41 uses Sensirion's PASens® photoacoustic measurement system that combines narrow-band IR light and a microphone inside the sensing package capable of detecting concentrations from 0 to 40000 ppm with high accuracy over 400-5000 ppm ±(40 ppm+5%). The SCD41 has an integrated temperature and humidity CMos® sensor to improve accuracy. For additional accuracy, the SCD41 also accepts ambient pressure readings!
The Raspberry Pi Camera Module 3 NoIR (Wide Angle) features a wide-angle lens (120° field of view) and does not employ an infrared filter (thus the NoIR). Built around a 12-megapixel Sony IMX708 image sensor module, Camera Module 3 offers a few key enhancements over its predecessor. Improved low-light sensitivity makes for better photos and output in situations where there's not a lot of light. The module also features powered autofocus, making getting a sharp picture output easier.
That's it for this week. As always, we can't wait to see what you make. Shoot us a tweet @sparkfun, or let us know on Instagram, Facebook or LinkedIn. Please be safe out there, be kind to one another! We'll be back with more new products next week so make sure to check back then. Happy hacking!
