A new E-Ink display and three bags-o-parts are now available this week at SparkFun Electronics!
Hello everyone and welcome back to another Friday Product Post here at SparkFun Electronics! This week, we have a brand new E-Ink display that requires ZERO programming and has a month-long battery life. Simply load the information blocks you want it to display and walk away! After that, we have assembled some of our favorite workbench essentials into three ubiquitous parts kits split into diodes, capacitors, and transistors. Alright, let's jump in!
The TRMNL is a comprehensive but straightforward, standalone E-Ink dashboard built to display your choice of important information with minimal distraction. Featuring a 7.5” monochrome E-Ink display, the TRMNL provides ambient, glanceable updates without the harsh glare of a traditional screen. Housed in a soft-touch ABS enclosure with a polished chrome kickstand, it’s designed to look great anywhere.
Transistors are the fundamental building blocks of modern electronics. These tiny semiconductor devices are the essential components for everything from switching a simple LED to amplifying an audio signal. Whether you're just starting your electronics journey or you're a seasoned pro who can't seem to find that one component you know you have somewhere, our Bag-o-Transistors is the perfect way to stock your workbench.
After resistors, capacitors are one of the most common and essential components in electronics. Acting like tiny, rechargeable batteries, they store and release electrical energy, making them critical for everything from filtering noise in power supplies to creating timing circuits and smoothing signals. Whether you're building your first blinking LED circuit or a complex audio filter, you'll need a variety of capacitors on hand.
Diodes are the gatekeepers of the electronics world. These two-terminal components act as one-way streets for electrical current, allowing it to flow in one direction while blocking it in the other. The simple but powerful function found in this parts kit makes them essential for countless applications, from converting AC to DC power (rectification) to protecting circuits and, of course, emitting light!
