Hello everyone and welcome back to another Friday Product Post here at SparkFun Electronics! We are less than a month away from the end of the year, but we are still releasing new products that might just make a special someone in your life incredibly happy this season! We start the week with our brand new FPC2534 Qwiic Fingerprint Sensor that adds biometric security and control to your current or next project. Following that, we've made our popular VCNL4040 Qwiic Proximity Sensor even smaller by adding it to our Qwiic Micro selection! The SparkFun FPC2534 Qwiic Fingerprint Sensor is a dual-purpose breakout that combines professional-grade biometric security with touch navigation. Built around the advanced FPC2354 sensor from Fingerprint Cards AB (FPC), this board handles the complex processing of fingerprint enrollment, encryption, and internal storage, ensuring your data remains secure without bogging down your host microcontroller.
The SparkFun Micro Proximity Sensor puts the reliable VCNL4040 into our smallest Qwiic form factor, designed for the tightest of spaces. At only 0.75in. by 0.30in. (or 24.65mm by 7.62mm for our metric friends), Qwiic Micro is perfect for projects and applications that have space or weight concerns. Unlike many other sensors that require an object to be at least 4cm away to be detected, this Micro breakout can detect objects up to the face of the sensor.
This paper-thin, adhesive UHF RFID tag has been designed for versatility and high performance. Measuring just 30mm x 16mm, this is small enough to stick to practically any object, providing reliable wireless identification. Each tag is built around the advanced H9 chip, which offers significant upgrades in speed, range, and memory over the standard H3 generation.
This is the surface-mount version of the classic 7-segment display. If you are looking to keep your PCB profile low and eliminate through-hole components, this SMD Red LED Display is the perfect solution.
This simple board breaks out the power, USB 2.0 data, configuration, and sideband pins of a USB Type-C connector to a 0.1″ spacing that is compatible with standard perfboards, solderless breadboards, and 0.1″ connectors. On-board CC pull-down resistors make it easy to use the receptacle in a power-sinking application.
