The Raspberry Pi 500+ is now available at SparkFun Electronics! We also now have the Raspberry Pi RM2!
Hello everyone and welcome to the first Friday product post of Fall 2025! Yeah, crazy how we are less than 13 weeks until the holidays... Well, if we accidentally evoked a sense of dread or panic in you, don't worry! We have some great ideas that'll make for excellent gifts for a family member or, frankly, yourself!
As of 1:00 a.m. this morning, we are proud to be offering the brand new Raspberry Pi 500+, an all-in-one personal computer built into a compact keyboard, in both kit and unit only versions! These new editions of the existing Raspberry Pi 500 pack some impressive new features and upgrades so make sure you check them out. Following that, we are also excited to announce that we now offer the Raspberry Pi Radio Module 2 as a bare IC. We know a lot of you have asked for this, so were are happy to finally be able to offer it. We wrap the week up with an SMD Triac Sensitive Gate and three new resistors moving over from our production stock. Alright, let's check out all of our new products, shall we?
The Raspberry Pi 500+ (available in both kit and unit only versions) is an all-in-one personal computer built into a compact keyboard, now updated with a high-quality mechanical keyboard featuring individually addressable RGB backlighting and replaceable key switches. Compared to the original Raspberry Pi 500, this version doubles the memory capacity to 16GB of LPDDR4X-4267 SDRAM. It includes a pre-loaded 256GB SSD, providing faster system responsiveness and expanded storage for applications, development, and desktop workloads.
The Raspberry Pi Radio Module 2 (RMC20452T) is a compact, certified wireless module built for integration into custom PCBs and microcontroller products. It packages the Infineon CYW43439 combo chipset and delivers single-band 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) plus Bluetooth 5.2 (Classic + LE) in a SISO architecture, with integrated internal PA, LNA and a shared 2.4 GHz antenna. A radio module like this enables wireless communications with minimal external components, reduces RF design complexity, and helps OEMs bypass costly radio/regulatory certification thanks to its full modular certification.
This planar passivated, four-quadrant triac, housed in a SOT223 surface-mount package, features a very sensitive gate. This design allows for direct interfacing with logic-level ICs and low-power drivers, simplifying circuit design and reducing component count in AC switching applications.
Last up this week, we have three different resistors two SMDs in 1.8k Ohm and 51k Ohm, both 1/10W, and a PTH 1k Ohm 1/4W. These tiny components each have unique use cases, so we recommend reading through each product and double check your project needs before purchasing!
That's it for this week at SparkFun. If you aren't already a subscriber to our New Product Newsletter, you really should be! As always, we can't wait to see what you make! Shoot us a tweet @sparkfun, or let us know on Instagram, Facebook or LinkedIn. Please be safe out there, be kind to one another! Happy hacking!
