This week, we have three new products to upgrade your keyboard or PID with Cherry MX2A Key Switches!
Hello everyone, and welcome back to another Friday Product Post here at SparkFun Electronics! This week, we are excited to showcase three new products from our friends across the pond in Germany. Starting today, SparkFun carries three versions of the new Cherry MX2A keyswitch: linear red, clicky blue, or tactile brown. These new key switches still pair perfectly with our Cherry MX Switch Breakout and R2 form-factor Cherry MX Keycaps, and provide a new way to interact with a project or replace some keys on your keyboard. Also, the original Cherry MX switch is on sale for 14% off, if you wanted to check that out, too! Let's jump in and take a closer look at them!
Cherry MX switches (available here at SparkFun Electronics in Red (linear), Blue (clicky), and Brown (tactile)) are known for their precision, consistency, and long operating life, making them a standard choice for keyboard manufacturers, makers, and enthusiasts alike. The MX2A generation builds on the original MX design with factory-applied lubrication, an optimized spring, and refined housing geometry to provide smoother key travel, reduced spring noise, and improved typing feel while maintaining compatibility with standard MX keycaps and PCBs.
While this board isn't a new product, with the release of the new Cherry MX2A switches, we wanted to make sure you knew this and the next three products were available to you! This specialized breakout board bridges the gap between the unique physical footprint of a Cherry MX mechanical keyswitch and standard breadboard or matrixed layouts. Whether you are building a simple single-key macro input or a full-sized keyboard layout, this breakout takes the anxiety and complexity out of the equation!
These R2 form-factor keycaps attach perfectly to the Cherry MX2A switches above and make your project look a little more professional. These keycaps come in three color and opacity options including Opaque Black, Translucent, and Translucent Black. You can still mark these with a permanent marker, a sticker, or another marking device.
J-Link debug probes are widely considered the most popular choice for optimizing debugging and flash programming. The SEGGER J-Link EDU Mini is a JTAG/SWD debugger that delivers professional-grade functionality in a highly compact, minimalistic form factor. Designed specifically for educational purposes, it provides students and hobbyists with full support for ArmĀ® and RISC-V-based microcontrollers.
