This week, we have a complete set of resistors, capacitors, a Transistor, and a header. All essentials when it comes to electrical engineering!
Hello everyone, and welcome back to another Friday Product Post here at SparkFun Electronics! This week, we have a bunch of resistors, capacitors, and even a Transistor and a header that we are moving over from our Production stock. These parts are all essentials when it comes to designing your own development, sensor, and prototyping boards. We thought you'd love the ability to pick these up from our catalog of parts in case you need them for your next big idea!
While this isn't a larger week for new products, We would like to remind you of what we announced yesterday, the XRP Beta End-of-Life Sale! While our full-production versions of the XRP aren't going anywhere, we're clearing out all remaining XRP Beta inventory and putting them on one final sale. This means it's your last chance to get your hands on these initial versions. You can read more about this sale by clicking the button below:
Have you ever tried to power a motor, solenoid, high-power LED strip, or relay directly from your Arduino or Raspberry Pi? You quickly find out that your microcontroller's pin can only supply a tiny amount of current, while these "heavy" loads demand full Amps to work.
The TIP122G is the classic, go-to solution for bridging this exact gap. It's a high-power NPN Darlington transistor, which acts as a simple, high-current switch that your microcontroller can control.
The right-angle orientation as seen on this header, is perfect for low-profile projects or for routing connections parallel to your PCB, saving vertical space. This is a single-row (1x6) header with the standard 0.1" (2.54mm) pitch, making it fully compatible with breadboards, perfboards, and common connectors like FTDI adapters.
These thick-film resistors are each rated for 1/10W (0.1W) and are AEC-Q200 qualified, ensuring high reliability for demanding applications, including automotive electronics and measurement equipment. From general-purpose options like the 560k Ohm resistor with a ±5% tolerance to high-precision components like the 10k Ohm resistor featuring a tight ±1% tolerance, each provides the performance and reliability your designs require.
Continuing our component expansion, we're also adding 330 Ohm and 10k Ohm isolated resistor arrays designed to simplify high-density PCB layouts. These 16-pin, 2506 surface-mount components save valuable board space by packaging eight individual resistors into a single chip, making them ideal for efficiently managing multiple pull-up, pull-down, or line-terminating resistors.
Rounding out the week, we've added three surface-mount capacitors to help with your power filtering, bypassing, and decoupling needs. We now offer two options for 10µF applications: a 16V solid tantalum capacitor, featuring a low 5 Ohm ESR, and a high-capacitance 50V multilayer ceramic (MLCC) in a 1206 package, which uses a stable X5R dielectric. We also now carry the essential 0.1µF (100nF), 25V MLCC in a tiny 0603 package, featuring a Y5V dielectric for general-purpose decoupling.
That's it for this week at SparkFun. If you aren't already a subscriber to our New Product Newsletter, you really should be! As always, we can't wait to see what you make!
