The SparkFun DataLogger IoT firmware has been updated to v1.5.1, adding four new auto-detectable boards.
Hey everyone! We are excited to announce that Firmware v1.5.1 is officially live for the SparkFun DataLogger IoT Boards.
If you've been looking to expand your environmental monitoring or remote logging capabilities, this update brings plug-and-play support for three of our existing Qwiic sensors (technically four considering the mini-version of one of them!), alongside a crucial bug fix to keep your temperature logging running smoothly.
The SparkFun DataLogger IoT is a data logger that comes preprogrammed and ready to use immediately - no programming, no setup - just plug in the board, add a supported Qwiic sensor or two and start logging data. The built-in firmware automatically detects attached sensors, performs any setup and starts logging sensor data. And with minimal configuration, the DataLogger IoT can connect to a local WiFi network and post data to a wide range of IoT data services.
Here is everything new in the v1.5.1 release:
Update your boards today to take advantage of the new Qwiic integrations, instructions are available in our online documentation!
If you're curious whether a board is plug-and-play-ready with DataLogger IoT, we've tagged the product pages (see below for example) that are capable, so you can tell just by looking! The product ecosystem is constantly growing, so make sure to check back often!
Ready to get started? Overall, the SparkFun DataLogger IoT is ready for operation and requires no programming or software development. Just plug in a supported sensor and begin logging data to the serial console. With a little additional setup, data is logged to a variety of common IoT data services as well as to an on-board SD card.
